Bubblegum Club is a cultural organisation founded in Johannesburg in 2015 and based in Geneva since 2025. Working at the intersection of media, cultural organising and art practice, we embrace experimental approaches to publishing and platform-making. Our focus is on creating artist-led and creator-led spaces that broadcast cultural material — people, images, ideas and critical thought — across contexts and geographies.
Our purpose is to hold space for independent creative models — practices that operate outside dominant institutional frameworks and logics. While our digital publication remains a core platform, our work extends into curation, exhibitions, events, residencies and collaborative projects. We move across mediums and disciplines, responding to culture as something lived, negotiated and collectively shaped.
Collaboration and community are central to our approach. We work across regions, countries and continents to foster dialogue, exchange and long-term creative ecosystems.
In 2025, Bubblegum transitioned from a for-profit company to operating under the Bubblegum Foundation. This shift reflects our commitment to supporting cultural production in ways that prioritise artistic integrity, collective growth and sustained impact over commercial imperatives.
