FMAC

From VISIBLE to VISIONS is a short documentary commissioned by FMAC Genève and produced by Bubblegum Club. The film captures Danniel Tostes and Lari Medawar curatorial residency at the Fonds municipal d’art contemporain de Genève (FMAC). The film follows their collaborative journey from archival research and studio visits to the conception, realisation, and installation of two interlinked exhibitions — VISIBLE and VISIONS — foregrounding the curatorial processes that shaped these projects.

Rooted in dialogue, experimentation, and relational practice, the residency reflects on how institutional collections can be activated through inclusive and care-driven approaches. Tostes and Medawar’s work brings together artists from within and beyond the FMAC collection to imagine new narratives and possible futures for contemporary art in Geneva, emphasising perspectives that expand conventional frameworks of representation.

By tracing the evolution of VISIBLE and its continuation in VISIONS, the documentary reveals curating not as a discrete act, but as a collective, transformative practice — one that opens institutional space to emotional, queer, decolonial, and intergenerational sensibilities.
