The all-new Galaxy Z series opens a new chapter in foldables with three distinct experiences designed for Ultra productivity, immersive discovery and self-expression
Samsung has unveiled its latest generation of foldable smartphones, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The new lineup marks the company's most complete lineup yet, offering three distinct devices tailored to different lifestyles – whether you're focused on productivity, immersive discovery or everyday self-expression.
Leading the range is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Samsung's premium foldable designed for users who need a larger workspace and professional-level creative tools. Featuring an expansive 8-inch display, a 200MP camera system, improved Nightography, 8K video recording and a larger battery, the Fold8 Ultra is built for creators and multitaskers looking to replace multiple devices with one. Despite packing in more power, it also arrives as Samsung's slimmest Fold device to date.
For those looking for a balance between entertainment and practicality, the Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a redesigned foldable experience centred around reading, gaming and media consumption. Samsung has refined the device with new display ratios that adapt to how people naturally consume content, while its new Flex Titanium hinge engineering makes unfolding feel smoother, lighter and more natural. The Fold8 is also the lightest Galaxy Fold yet, combining a slimmer design with upgraded durability and improved battery life.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 continues Samsung's focus on portability and personal style. The company's thinnest and lightest Flip phone so far, it introduces an enhanced FlexWindow that brings AI-powered features, shortcuts and apps directly to the cover screen. The updated FlexCam experience also expands creative possibilities, with improved selfie tools, hands-free shooting and new camera features designed specifically around the foldable form factor.
Across the entire range, Samsung has placed artificial intelligence at the centre of the experience. Galaxy AI powers personalised recommendations, smarter multitasking and voice-assisted workflows while working seamlessly across multiple apps. The company has also expanded its partnership with Google, integrating Gemini AI more deeply into the devices to help users organise notes, manage tasks, generate summaries and automate everyday actions.
Samsung has also continued refining the engineering behind its foldable displays, introducing new Flex Titanium technology to improve durability while reducing crease visibility. Combined with brighter displays, upgraded performance and enhanced security features powered by Samsung Knox, the new devices aim to make foldables feel more practical than ever for daily use.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 are available for pre-order in South Africa from 22 July to 12 August 2026. Customers who pre-order will also receive a six-month subscription to Google AI Pro, along with additional launch offers and accessories.
